Original post:

It's been a wonderful year for Articulture! But not so much for many in our community. So we'd like to mix our Anniversary Party with a little helping hand.

It's a celebration, so, first thing's first, come have a fun night at one of Austin's most unique boutiques/galleries/venue spaces. Plus:

As we're having fun, let's raise some funds of the Texas chapter of the American Civil Liberties Union. While there's no cover and free booze, we will be requesting a $5 suggested donation to ACLU of TX. So if you can afford it, please contribute, as 100% of the donations are going straight to ACLU of TX

Plus, Articulture is donating 10% of all sales all day -- and since we're staying open -- all night.

AKINA ADDERLEY

Akina Adderley, known for her "rich, emotive pipes" and effortlessly weaving between soul, jazz, and rockin' R&B, is bringing her new quintet the Upper East Side to Articulture's outdoor stage.

Nicknamed “the little woman with the big voice,” vocalist, songwriter, and bandleader Akina Adderley was born into music; it is etched into her like the tattoo of a family crest. Her father (Nat Adderley, Jr.), grandfather (Nat Adderley), and garnduncle (Cannonball Adderley) represent jazz and bandleader royalty. And Akina has carried the family crest effortlessly while stamping out a sound that's completely her own.
