Studio Designer (aka, Plant Artist)

There is probably no other job like this one, so there’s no set-in-stone prior experience. But some character pre-requisites include: highly creative, extremely reliable, hardworking, and maintain a positive attitude. We are close-knit team, and team chemistry is just as important as job skill. You also must be a quick leaner and have the ability to handle random tasks with confidence in a fast-paced, creative environment. Odds are you have an art/design background.

About the Job

This is a full-time position. Flexibility to work some weekends is required. Primary job duties include (but are not limited to):

  • Creating artful plant arrangements (succulents, tillandsias, moss, ferns, etc.) that follow the Articulture aesthetic, for sale in the Articulture gallery

  • Creating custom plant arrangements and living wall art per client specifications

  • Quality control existing gallery inventory, refreshing pieces as necessary

  • Aid in fabrication of large living wall projects, communicating and implementing necessary design info

  • Assist in large project installations, knowing appropriate art hanging methods to ensure correct and accurate placement of large pieces

  • Aid in packing to safely transport pieces to destination with needed installation tools and materials

  • Keep studio and work areas orderly and neat; join team with studio opening/closing duties

  • Assist with workshops and events held at Articulture, including setup, tear-down, and assisting guests through the workshops

  • Floral design for gallery displays, events, and clients

  • Ability to interact with clients and customers

  • Assist your teammates when assistance is needed, even if it isn’t your main job duty

  • Random acts of plant art

  • Random acts of randomness, always with an impeccably high standard!

 

In order to perform this job safely, it requires good vision, hearing, climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, reaching, lifting, communication, and critical thinking skills. Knowledge and experience using power tools is a requirement. The ability to drive a van is also necessary.

Compensation is commensurate with experience.
