Fabrication Artist and Installation
Articulture Designs is a premium design firm that fabricates and installs a wide range of works for commercial and residential clients is seeking a qualified plant care specialist and installation assistant.
Responsibilities
To be qualified for this position you must be a dependable, hardworking, problem-solver, and maintain a positive attitude. We are close-knit team, and team chemistry is just as important as job skill.
Our scopes of work are wide-ranging, we don’t expect you start day 1 with all the boxes checked, but you should have solid expertise in at least a few of the following:
Carpentry, welding, construction, art installation, AutoCAD (or similar), laser-cutting, electrical, project management, blueprints, irrigation/plumbing, general handy wo/man
Some more specific qualifications include (but are not limited to):
Ability to lift and carry 50 pounds independently
Able to climb and work on ladders, scaffolding, scissor lifts, etc.
Extensive experience using power tools
Expert at taking measurements, ensuring levelness, etc.
Have own reliable transportation
Have keen eye for detail
Effective communication skills
A big plus, but not required for this position, would be if you have good knowledge of plants either professionally or personally.
About the Job
Salary is commensurate with experience.
The Fabrication Artist will work both on-site in the Articulture studio and at project sites. Articulture is most known for custom plant walls and interior plantscapes, but our project scopes are practically unlimited.
Studio fabrication work will include working with materials such as wood, steel, metal, plant material (live, preserved, and faux), adhesives, ropes, and more.
Skills and knowledge that will be utilized daily in studio fabrication include carpentry, hardware, painting, cutting, sawing, gluing, glazing, material handling, and more. Additional skills that are needed including welding, laser-cutting, computer drawing, electrical – so if you have experience in any of these areas as well, please indicate as such.
Off-site work at project sites will include pre-installation work, such as field verifications and field measurements, as well as project installations.
Installations may be in concrete walls, steel walls, drywall, hanging from ceilings, etc. A strong knowledge of appropriate hardware and problem-solving abilities are must-haves to succeed in this position.
In order to perform this job safely, it requires good vision, hearing, climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, reaching, lifting, communication, and critical thinking skills. The ability to drive a trailer is also necessary.
